Biography

Of Brasenose Oxford, then lecturer at St Christopher le Stocks and (from 1644) St Olave Jewry and Christ Church Newgate, London. Woodcock was a steady London Presbyterian voice in the catechetical committee and a regular preacher of parliamentary fast sermons in the mid-1640s — Christ's Warning-Piece (1644) and Lex Talionis (1646) were the best known of more than a dozen sermons preached before either House. A second-tier London Presbyterian active on multiple committees through the main sessions. Died in office around 1651.
